The Andergrove Priority Development Area (PDA) was declared on 23 April 2010. It is approximately five kilometres north of Mackay's CBD, bordering the suburb of Beaconsfield.

The 22 hectare site includes the Mackay Regional Council's (MRC) Bedford Road works depot and is bordered by Bedford Road, established homes to the north and south, and established homes and Broomdykes Drive Park to the west.

The Queensland Government, through this department and MRC, are developing the site as part of a joint venture to redevelop the site into a residential community.

Note: In February 2013, the Urban Land Development Act 2007 (ULDA Act) was repealed and replaced with the Economic Development Act 2012 (ED Act). From then on, land areas identified for priority development were referred to as Priority Development Areas (PDAs), not Urban Development Areas (UDAs), and existing UDAs were transitioned to PDAs under the ED Act. Any reference to the term UDA on this website is taken to mean a transitioned UDA, which is now known as a PDA.
