The Development Tribunals (formerly the Building and Development Dispute Resolution Committees) hear certain low risk, technical disputes. Hearings are conducted in an informal manner without legal representation and each party pays its own costs. Decisions made by the committees are legally binding and, in some cases, appealable in the Planning and Environment Court.

Further information about the Tribunals is available on the Department of Housing and Public Work's website.
